Yikes! I’m behind on blogging. I knew this would happen. It’s okay though, this is my sister-in-law and her family so I gave her plenty of warning. Family always gets pushed to the bottom of the to-do list, but they are well compensated. 😉 I really like these images . . . capturing their family as they are right now with energetic little boys running and playing. We had fun hanging out at the park . . . I love that this park with it’s beautiful lakes is very close to my house. Aren’t my nephews adorable! They’re cute and FAST. I was literally running to get a few of these.  Oh how I love taking pictures of my family!

Apparently my brother-in-law was talking again and missed the start of the race.  He deserves every bit of teasing I can dish out . . . you should see what I have to put up with!  lol

Like father, like son . . .

I’ve been editing his pics and just had to post these.  I wish I had pics like this of me and my babies.  Do you remember all those emotions that ran through you when you watched your babies grow?  I remember just holding them close and breathing in their scent.  I just love how babies’ heads smell.  They emit some kind of baby perfume that is so soothing to a new parent.   They should figure out a way to bottle that stuff.  So anyway, just wanted to share this series.  I love them.  In the one of mom giving him a kiss . . . look at his little eye getting squished . . . LOVE that.

I photographed this little guy in his mom’s tummy and as a newborn . . . LOOK at him now!!!  He is growing and so so handsome.  What a cutie!  I LOVE watching his parents interact with him . . . so much love and happiness!!

It is so fun to have repeat clients because I get to know them more and more each time we are together.

The first few are in my backyard.  🙂

These were taken at the zoo a couple weeks ago . . . it was 70 degrees in NOVEMBER.  Definitely something to be thankful for.  Since then it has snowed several times.  I’m also thankful for my husband, our extended families, Jesus, staying in my pajamas all day yesterday, a nice warm fire in our wood burning stove, homeschooling, photography, my church family, the pictures I have hanging on the walls that make me smile everytime I look at them, pumpkin pie (which I am about to go make with my Mom . . . YUM), and so much more!  I could go on and on . . . so many blessings for which to be thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

PS  The amazingness I can’t wait to show you (I mentioned it in my last post), well . . . you’re gonna have to wait!  It will be worth it.  🙂

I’m loving these.  They will provide some much needed variety this winter.  If only I could do outdoor photos all the time.  Unfortunately it gets very cold here, so aside from the occasional snow shots, these will have to do.  You can see my little model got tired of the photos (aka: photographer’s child syndrome) so we had to finish up.

And on a totally unrelated side note . . . my husband cleaned/organized the laundry room!!!!!!  What a job.  He did great!  I’m so happy I can WALK in there now.  I truly am blessed with a husband that hates clutter and cleans better than I do.  Sometimes the anti-clutter mentality can get on my nerves . . . like when I can’t have even ONE piece of paper lying on my desk.  But overall, it really is a blessing.  Thanks Bob!  Love ya.

Now I wonder where all that stuff in the laundry room went.  ?????

No, he was not a ringbearer in our wedding.  He was a ringbearer in a friend’s/cousin’s wedding.  I knew I had to take him out for a little session while we still had the suit.  My, oh my, he is so handsome.   Can you believe the suit he wore is about 20 years old????  My good friend Vicki SAVED it for all those years.  Her son wore it in a wedding that long ago.

Our son nearly wore holes in the knees from all his break dancing at the wedding.  He was quite the life of the party.  He had everyone laughing.  I don’t know where he got all his dance skills.  I mean, I’m quite good in front of the mirror, but I keep my skills a secret.  And Bob, well . . . I haven’t ever seen much more than a slow dance out of him.  I’m not saying he can’t dance.  Just sayin’ I haven’t seen it.  🙂

So here he is . . . our handsome ringbearer

Not sure what this look is all about . . .

I think this is his favorite . . .

of the camera. gulp.  I have been looking forward to this for months!  My very good friend Melissa Speelman is a talented photographer in the Cincinnati area.   We decided to swap family photo sessions.  We both took pics and had pics taken of our families at the same time.  It was a BLAST!  I’m so glad to have pics of me with my kids!  Getting my picture taken is not one of my favorite things to do, but Melissa and her gang made it so fun.  I’ll have plenty more to share later . . . along with Melissa’s family.  Check out her blog by clicking the link above or in the sidebar.

I am laughing in a lot of the pics (because I tend to laugh a lot in real life . . . either that or stress . . . I go to extremes).  Some people might wonder why I want a picture of myself with my mouth WIDE open.  Well, I want my kids to remember me laughing with them.  So no matter how crazy I look, I hope these pics remind them of all the fun times we had together.

We’ve known this family for quite a few years.  We had a great time hanging out at their place and capturing their family.  They’ve got a beautiful lot with a pond and woods . . . perfect setting for outdoor pictures.

Thanks guys!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Her eyes are stunning!

So handsome . . .

I adore his enthusiasm here!!!  For some reason my blog cut off the right side of this image, but you get the picture.

He was the happiest little dude . . . so cute.

I love this moment . . . little J’s look as she rests on her Mama just melts me.

The entire group . . . I know it is impossible to see their faces on a web image this small, but hey, I wanted to include it anyway.  🙂

I’m trying not to use the word fun in every blog post, but I just can’t help myself.  This session was fun!  My 7 year old daughter went with me as my “assistant” and the first thing she said when we got in the van to leave was, “you didn’t tell them what to do.”  I said, “I didn’t have to!”  I just followed these kids all around their grandparent’s farm with my camera.  There was an old firetruck . . . so cool.  Actually it is “the COOLEST thing in the WORLD” according to the 5 year old boy.  I think he’s right.  Then there was the pirate ship grandpa rigged up out of an old boat . . . complete with pirate flag.  And finally there were the horses.  Beautiful horses that totally love the kids.  I wish this place had existed when I was a kid.  My 7 year old had a blast!

And special thanks to Emily McGinnis for referring this wonderful family to me.   She is friends with them, but lives in Charleston, so she referred them to me.  I love the online photography community we have at Beyond Just Images.

Grandma gets an award for getting everyone to laugh in this one . . .

A storyboard of some of the firetruck images . . .

This is my dd and niece I mentioned in the last post.  They are wearing shirts that say Best Friends Forever.  I LOVE the relationship they have.  We had a wonderful afternoon/evening together.  My dd said I’m crazy . . . I laughed one of those nervous laughs wondering if she thought that was good or bad . . . she said good.  She’s 7.
